Draft Analysis

I'd like to thank those of you who came to the draft.  I hope you had a good time.

The following teams have the most 2009-HRs on their roster:

Bx Bomber: 297 (A. Pujols, 47*)
House of Pizza: 283 (M. Reynolds, 44)
Face on Balls: 282 (A. Dunn, 38)
NY Crop Dusters: 264 (A. Ethier, 31)

In spite of Paul (Balls on Face) drafting P. Fielder (46) and R. Howard (45) his team ranks 7th with 236 home runs.

Some teams favored drafting A-List pitchers early.  We'll see if that pays off.  Bryan and Dunder Mifflin, thanks to the fact that he didn't even show up, popped the pitcher cherry by taking Lincecum with the 3rd pick.  The first live player to choose a pitcher was Nick who chose Roy Halladay with his first pick, 8th overall.  Mr G took advantage of his low draft order by snatching up some elite starters ahead of the others.  The following teams have the most 2009-victories on their squad:

Mr. G: 167 (C. Carpenter, 17)
Dunder Mifflin: 123 (C.C. Sabathia, 19*)
Masterbation Station: 87 (F. Hernandez, 19*)
NY Crop Dusters: 85 (R. Halladay, 17)

Nick is the only owner to appear in the top 4 in wins and home runs.

Speed is a quality that is often overlooked in fantasy baseball.  It's not as glamorous as the home run or strikeout, but greatly contributes to your runs, stolen bases and batting average.  The following teams recognize its importance and drafted accordingly:

Bloop Chutes: 237 (J. Ellsbury, 70*)
House of Pizza: 187 (I. Kinsler, 31)
Bronx Bomber: 184 (R. Davis, 41)
Mario Van Peebles: 177 (M. Bourn, 61)

And finally, last but not least, we come to the strikeouts.  It's kinda like the home run for pitchers, I guess.  The list is based on strikeouts/inning:

Bolas en la Cara: 982/935=1.05 (Y. Gallardo, 204)
House of Pizza: 1046/1041=1.00 (J. Vazquez, 238)
Masterbation: 1257/1309=.96 (Z. Greinke, 242)
Monstah of B-Town: 830/868=.95 (J. Beckett, 199)

Total K's:

Dunder Mifflin: 1506 (T. Lincecum, 261)
Mr. G the Musical: 1341 (C. Kershaw, 185)
Masterbation: 1257 (Z. Greinke, 242)
NY Crop Dusters: 1047 (R. Halladay, 208)

Justin Verlander led the majors in 2009 with 269 strikeouts.
